One month on, Delhi Police still in search of missing Shahdara girl

Even after one month of ongoing investigation, Delhi police failed to trace a 16-year-old girl who has been missing from her house in North-east Delhi’s Shahdara area since October 13. The girl’s family alleged inaction of the police.

The girl went missing on October 13 after which an FIR was registered at Shahdara police station.
“Soon after receiving the complaint, the photograph of the missing girl was circulated to all the police stations in the national Capital and other state police. But so far the girl could not be traced,” a police official close to the investigation said.

Meanwhile, the family said: “We have a suspicion on a boy who resides in the colony because the boy has been missing from the same day that our girl went missing but his family members have not filed any complaint.

“We have informed the police about the suspect but the concerned officials failed to question his family members.”

However, police officials refused to buy the allegations framed by the family members adding, “We have taken necessary action in the case and the man-hunt is on to trace the missing girl and also the suspect. As soon as we get him we will start the case.”
