One killed, one injured after e-rickshaw hits bicycle

A 40-year-old man was killed while his 18-year-old son sustained injuries after their bicycle was allegedly hit by an e-rickshaw in Outer Delhi’s Aman Vihar area on Monday night. 

According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Charanjeet while the injured has been identified as Rohit.

The accident took place at around 9.30 pm when Charanjeet was on his way home from Nangloi with Rohit.

Eyewitnesses told police that the errant vehicle was riding at a high speed when the collision took place. Hearing the voices of the victims, the locals present at the spot pulled out the driver identified as Shahrukh.

Police said that Shahrukh along with the locals rushed the injured to a nearby hospital where Charanjeet was declared brought dead while Rohit was discharged after treatment.

Police said that they have registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code at the Aman Vihar police station against the accused.

 Rohit lives with his family at Sector 20 of Rohini and was heading home with his father on a bicycle when the accident happened.
