One killed in jewellery shop blast at Khardah

An elderly person was killed after a shutter of a jewellery shop in Khardah was blown up in a blast which took place inside the shop.

Police said that the blast took place inside the closed shop. The incident took place on Monday night when the victim was taking a stroll in the area after having his dinner.

The intensity of the blast was so huge that the shutter was blown off and it hit the victim.

After hearing the screams of the victim, the local people rushed to the spot and found that the victim was writhing in pain. They rushed the victim to a nearby hospital where he died later as his injuries were serious.

After being informed, the police rushed to the spot and started an investigation. According to the preliminary investigation, a bomb was kept inside the jewellery shop which was locked from outside.

Police are investigating why the bomb had been kept inside the shop. The owners and the staff members have been interrogated in this connection so far.

Police are also examining the nature of the bomb. The primary investigation, however, suggests that it might have been a crude bomb. Forensic team also visited the spot and collected samples from the place of the incident.

Police also suspect that some local miscreants might have been involved in the incident.

They might have kept it for using it in some other place but it had unfortunately gone off.

The local rival groups often engage in clash for the area domination. Gang wars have often been reported in the area. Police are interrogating some local goons in this connection so far. Raids are being conducted in the area to nab the culprits. Police have started a detail probe in this regard.
