One killed, four injured in separate accidents

In four separate road accidents, one person died while four persons, including a seven-year-old boy, were injured in the capital on Sunday.

In the first incident, one Kapil Rajan [36] died after his car rammed into a tree near Ring Road CNG petrol pump on Saturday night. Rajan worked in a private company and was returning home after work in his Santro, when he met with the accident.

Police received the call around 11:45 pm that a car was crashed. Rajan was going towards Naraina from Dhaula Kuan. He was a resident of Karmpura.

In the second incident, a 50-year-old man was injured after being hit by a low-floor DTC bus in Karawal Nagar area. The injured, identified as Gauri Shankar, was on way to office when he met with the accident. As he reached near Khajuri Khas chowk, a speeding bus hit him. Police has registered the case against the errant driver.

In the third incident, two persons were injured after a Tata-407, mini truck, rammed into a Metro pillar in Nangloi. The truck was coming from Chuna Mandi in Paharganj, late on Saturday night.

The injured were identified as Pawan and Chaudhary and they have been admitted to Sanjay Gandhi hospital. Pawan’s condition is said to be critical.

In the fourth incident, a seven-year-old boy was injured after his leg came under the wheels of a water tanker in Chanakyapuri on Saturday.

Sabbir Mohammad Soyab, a resident of Sanjay Camp, was playing around the tanker near San Martin Marg around 12.30 pm, when he met with the accident. He was taken to All India Institute of Medical Sciences [AIIMS] Trauma Centre by a police control room vehicle. The tanker has been seized and a case of rash driving and causing hurt has been registered at Chanakyapuri police station.
