One killed, 10 injured in Noida Expressway mishap

One person was killed while 10 others were injured on the wee hours of Sunday after a speeding car collided with a stationary truck on Yamuna Expressway here, police said.

The incident took place about 800 metres away from the zero point (entry/exit point of the e-way) on Greater Noida-Agra side. The victims were admitted in a hospital where one succumbed to his injuries while the condition of four others is stated to be critical. Police have sent the body for post-mortem. The car of the victims, who were coming from the national Capital and were going to Aligarh, rammed into a stationary truck. Police said that due to poor visibility, the driver of the car failed to spot the stationary truck and rammed into it. The impact of the accident was so high that both the vehicles were considerably damaged.

The passers-by informed the police and a rescue team admitted all the victims at Kailash Hospital in Greater Noida where one, Imran (32), succumbed to his injuries while others – Gufran (26), Furkhan (36), Saba (30), Ujama (23), Anam (16), Ayan (6), Aviva (20) and two others have been recuperating. “Around 10 injured persons were brought to Kailash Hospital by the Yamuna Expressway ambulance team. One was declared dead and he has been identified as Imran. He is around 32 years old,” said a doctor. “Four of the injured were admitted to the ICU while three others were admitted in the ward,” he said.
