Publications Division gave away the prizes for the Bal Bharati Essay Competition for the year 2013. Thirteen winners of the National Essay Competition were felicitated at a specially organized function at the India International Centre, New Delhi.
A number of eminent personalities from the field of children’s literature attended the function.
Eminent writer and academician Dr. Diwik Ramesh, in his speech gave creative suggestions to the children. The Additional Director General, Publications Division while congratulating the children, spoke about the achievements of the Directorate and also highlighted the future plans for Publications Division.
Publications Division, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, has been organizing this Essay Competition for children in Hindi since 2004. The competition is organized by the popular monthly children’s magazine Bal Bharati for children up to the age of 16 years. Earlier, limited for Delhi alone, the competition acquired a national status in 2008. In 2013, the competition received a record - ten thousand entries from all over the country. Bal Bharati since 1948, has been providing valuable content to the children in an enjoyable format at an extremely affordable price.
