The love for fast food just refuses to ebb. More so with foodies. And now the foodies of the Capital will get a chance to hog, and win accolades for it too.
Courtesy a hot dog eating competition that is slated to take place in the city.
This one too is an import from the US. Organised on the lines of one of the most popular eating sports held annually in America in July, which is popularly known as the Hot Dog Month, the festival is all set to kickstart its first Indian edition. The competition is uniquely marked by hoggers who compete with other contenders to eat the maximum number of hot dogs within a specified time limit.
First held in 1993 and then in 1997 in US, qualifying contests are used to determine contestants for the final. Women and men have competed in separate competitions. In 2011, over 40,000 spectators attended the event, and an additional 1.949 million viewers watched it.
So gluttons, hurry up and register yourselves for this new competition in the city.
