One dead in bike-taxi collision

Manjur Alam, a resident of Mirza Ghalib Street died after the motor cycle he was riding on was hit by a vehicle at Hastings more late Friday night. Another youth who was riding as a pillion and a taxi driver were injured in the incident.  The victim’s family members said that Manjur had died after a Kolkata police vehicle at a top speed lost its control and hit the motor cycle. The local people rushed the victim to the SSKM hospital where he died later. The city police have denied the charge that the victim was hit by a police vehicle. According to police the vehicle that was used for carrying the RAF hit a taxi from behind when it lost its control. The taxi in turn had hit the motor cycle.
