One dead, another hurt in Ranhola accident

A 25-year-old man died, while another aged 50 years was injured after their scooty allegedly collided with an unidentified vehicle near a temple at West Delhi’s Ranhola area on Tuesday night.

The police said the deceased was identified as Satish, a resident of Kotla Vihar Phase-1, while Rajesh, was injured in the accident. Rajesh lives with his family in Jai Vihar Phase 2 area.

According to the police, the duo was returning from work when they met with the accident. In the absence of eye-witnesses, it was difficult to establish the exact sequence of events, said a police official investigating the case.

The police said a PCR call was received about two men lying in a pool of blood near the Radha Krishna temple in Ranhola area around 10:50pm.

A police team rushed the two men to a hospital, where Satish was declared brought dead, while Rajesh is recuperating in the ICU at Safdarjung Hospital and his condition is stated to be critical. The police are yet to record Rajesh’s statement.

A police official said, “We are scanning the CCTV footage installed in the area to establish the exact sequence of events. A case has been registered under Sections 279 and 304A of the IPC against unknown persons at the Ranhola police station.”
