On their way to Nainital, four friends die after car falls in 800 m gorge

Four youth were killed when their vehicle fell into a 800 meter gorge on the Bhawali-Nainital Road in Uttarakhand on Wednesday. The four were friends and were visiting a family wedding of one of their friend who also expired in the accident.

Rahul Sonwal never expected that his friend Rahul Chowdhary would never return when he handed over his car keys to him. Rahul Sonwal runs an e-commerce business in Delhi and was friends with Rahul Chowdhary who is also in the same business.

“He came to me on Tuesday and asked for my car to attend a family wedding. Rahul told me his car has gone to Rajasthan and would not be able to make it. So I gave him my Ford Eeco. I never expected that such a tragedy was waiting. I don’t know the other three,” said Rahul Sonwal. The car was on its way from Delhi to Nainital when the accident occurred on Tuesday evening.

According to an officer of Uttarakhand Police, the deceased have been identified as Anshu Chowdhary, Chinku Chowdhary, Rohit Sethi and Rahul Chowdhary; all residents of Delhi.

The Uttrakhand Police looking after the case informed the Delhi Police after identities were found in the car. The Delhi Police later informed the families who left for Uttrakhand after hearing the tragic news. Neeraj Chowdhary, the brother of deceased Rahul Chowhary was in shock and broke down while talking to Millennium Post.

“At the age of just 22 he was quite mature and responsible. They were going to attend the family wedding of one of their friend Anshu Chowdhary in Uttrakhand. He ran his e-commerce business from Paschim Vihar. This is a huge shock for us,” said Neeraj. Anshu Chowdhary was a resident of Burari in North Delhi.
