On the lines of Naxal module, IM had planned to shoot Modi prior to polls

Disclosing the stunning revelations made by Tehsin Akhtar, IM commander, a highly placed source in Delhi police special cell said, ‘During the planning stage, the operatives had initially devised a plan to kill Modi outside his hotel in Patna. They had arranged sophisticated weapons and explosives from Naxalites to shoot him dead.’
In its Friday edition, Millennium Post had reported about the tie-up between IM and Naxals. Also, one Manoj Pandey, who was arrested by NIA after Patna rally blasts, used to supply explosives to both IM operatives and Naxals.
Before the arrest of Yasin Bhatkal, co-founder of IM, the Bhatkal brothers – Iqbal and Riyaz – had instructed the outfit to zero in on Modi in Naxal style. In August when Yasin was arrested by NIA from Indo-Nepal border, Tehsin became the in-charge of the execution.
According to their plan, source added, Modi was supposed to be shot dead outside the hotel in Patna where he was staying for his rallies in Bihar. ‘To execute the plan the operatives did a recce of the hotel and the nearby area a week prior to his arrival in Patna. A day before the plan was to be executed, the operatives went for the final recce but the Z-security around Modi hampered their plans,’ the source told Millennium Post.
‘On the same day, the outfit changed their plan and they targeted the rally site. A parallel recce of the site was already done by few of the operatives. Based on that recce, bombs were planted in and around the rally site, Tehsin said during interrogation.
Sources said, Tehsin got a message from Pakistan stating: ‘If you want to establish notice, then plan big and attack bigger.’ Receiving this message, the new module of IM, Teshin told police, is to to carry out major political assassinations by targeting big leaders and policemen.
