On-duty CISF jawan commits suicide

A Central industrial Security Force (CISF) jawan committed suicide at Kalkaji Metro station on Thursday evening. The jawan shot himself using his service revolver.

The incident was reported on Thursday evening at around 4.30 pm. The CISF jawan was identified as Bhagat Singh (28), who was posted at the CCTV division of the Kalkaji Metro. It is learnt that Bhagat shot himself while he was on duty.

“Bhagat was in-charge of the CCTV monitoring unit. He shot himself two hours after joining duty,” said DCP Metro Jitender Mani.

Police say that Bhagat was on holidays and joined duty on Thursday. He has also not left any suicide note.

Bhagat was rushed to AIIMS Trauma Centre but was declared brought dead. 

Bhagat was a resident of Agra in UP. The exact cause of the suicide is still not known. The cops investigating the case are questioning the colleagues and staff of the Metro staff present at the time of the incident to know the sequence of events.
