Okhla MLA’s sister-in-law dies of dengue

With cases of casualties in the city being reported, the city on Friday witnessed another death due to dengue. 38-year-old Nazish who was the sister-in-law of Okhla MLA Amanantullah Khan succumbed due to dengue on Friday afternoon in Delhi’s Apollo hospital.

Speaking to Millennium Post, Amanantullah Khan mentioned that his sister-in-law was tested positive 
for dengue and upon subsequent deterioration in her condition on early Wednesday morning she was admitted to a private hospital where she succumbed on Friday afternoon.

“The blood platelet levels on being admitted was as low as 11, 000,” added Khan.

Though there has been no official statement from the hospital, an official from the hospital said: “Nazish was brought at a very critical state to the hospital. She was supplied with 4-5 units of blood yet her condition did not improve.” 

To tackle the crisis of dengue, the Delhi government has announced that from September 1 all tests at the 105 Mohalla Clinics will be free. As many as 300 dengue fever clinics will also be opened by the Delhi government this year.
