Northern Rly observes National Unity Day

In commemoration of the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhai Patel and in keeping with his lofty mission of national integration, Northern Railway observed the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas with all major 

railway stations marking special events on the occasion on Saturday.  A ceremony was held at New Delhi railway station. A K Puthia, General Manager, Northern Railway, all principal heads of departments and other senior railway officers from Northern Railway Headquarters and Delhi Division were present on the occasion. Office-bearers and members of recognised unions and associations of Northern Railway, Northern Railway Bharatiya Scouts and Guides Association and Railway Protection Force also enthusiastically participated on the occasion. Puthia led from the front a Run for Unity, the Officers’ Club, State Entry Road enroute to Connaught Circus Inner Circle. A Swacch Rail Abhiyaan was also held at the four major stations on Northern Railway— New Delhi, Delhi Jn, H Nizamuddin amd Anand Vihar Terminal with participation of Sant Nirankari Mission. Arun Arora, Divisional Railway Manager, Northern Railway and other senior railway officers participated in the drive.
