Northern Railway introduces spl trains, beefs up security

For the convenience of the passengers as well as to clear the extra rush that accompanies the festive season, Northern Railway has introduced 44 pairs of special trains. Among them are 9 pairs of Suvidha Express, 29 pairs of Express specials, 3 pairs of Janasadharan trains and 3 pairs of passenger trains running to 31 destinations.

Additionally, CCTV cameras have been installed at entrance gates in order to curb malpractices along with the presence of metal detectors, both hand held and machine controlled near all entry points and deployment of dog squads.  Plus, there have been the formation of joint teams of security and commercial to conduct special drives against touting activities/unauthorised agents. Special checks against carriage of inflammables in trains and at stations, tour operators, JTBSs, RTSAs have also been arranged. Special arrangements through proper deployment of ticket checking staff at FOBs of stations for crowd control have also been made. Additionally, special attention is being paid to ensure satisfactory condition of all passenger amenities & convenience like water, waiting halls etc.

First aid boxes are also available with the guards in all the passenger carrying trains. At major railway stations augmented first aid boxes are also available. Besides, lists of railway hospitals/health units, government hospitals in vicinity, private medical practitioners are also available. Special Arrangements have been made during the festive rush by setting up first aid posts across Delhi.
