Noida suicide: Two more arrested

Two days after <g data-gr-id="30">alleged</g> suicide of Class XI student in Chhijarsi area, Noida police have arrested two more accused involved in stalking and molestation. The girl, in her suicide letter, had said that she was committing suicide because she could not take the trauma of being molested by three youth living in her neighbour.

The girl, in her letter, had also highlighted <g data-gr-id="29">failure</g> of the police in protecting her. The family, too, had said that even after approaching the police, no action had been taken against the molesters which forced the girl to take the extreme step.

Police said that two of the three accused — Rahul and Shivam — are aged between 20 and 24 years. Earlier on Saturday, the police had arrested one accused named Raja (35), who is a taxi driver.
Meanwhile, the video footage in which the deceased girl had recorded her statement against the three accused before her suicide has gone viral on social media. Police are investigating as to how it was leaked from the evidence that was in police custody.

Superintendent of Police (City) Dinesh Yadav said: “The girl had identified all the three eve-teasers in her police statement. Even, we are investigating the case but we began to probe the case a day after she committed suicide. However, the police went ahead with their investigation and arrested all the three accused.”

The SP said the girl had named the three stalkers as Raja, Shivam and Rahul in her suicide note. “We have sent all the accused in judicial custody. Also, police have detained one of the accused’s mother whose name was taken by the deceased,” he added.

Deceased Anita, a Class XI student in a Ghaziabad college, killed self by hanging with her ‘dupatta’ at her residence on Friday due to mental torture for the past few days by the three stalkers. <g data-gr-id="27">According</g> the complaint made by her on October 13, all the three accused were continuously stalking on her way to school. An FIR was registered against these three accused under Section 354 in Phase-III police station.
