NOIDA all set to launch city bus service by November end

The Noida Authority after missing several deadlines has now set a new deadline to launch its long-awaited and ambitious city bus service project. 

Commuters of Noida and Greater Noida will have to wait till November-end to avail the facilities. According to the officials of Noida Metro Rail Corporation, the buses under the scheme are expected to roll on the roads by the end of November. 

Officials further said that they are on the verge to finish the preparations. 

The installation of boards and poles on the bus stops will be finished within a week or two; post completion, the bus service will be operational within a week.

Initially, the bus service was to be launched by June this year and has since missed many deadlines.  
As many as 50 air-conditioned low floor CNG buses will be launched in the first phase. In the second phase, 50 non-air-conditioned buses will be added.

Commuters, particularly office-goers and students face inconveniences in the absence of adequate public transport facilities. 

The new bus services will boast of advances facilities, including CCTV cameras, GPS systems, mobile app for users to track the buses and a panic button for safety of women passengers.

Once launched, the city bus service will provide connectivity to all major residential sectors including on routes like the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, Dadri-Surajpur Road, Noida’s Special Economic Zone (NSEZ), Phase-II and Surajpur industrial area and also the educational hubs such as Knowledge Park-I and Gautam Buddh University in Greater Noida. They will also be used as Metro feeder buses.
