Giving a strict message to the TMCP workers, Trinamool Congress secretary general Partha Chatterjee said that subscription should not be taken from anyone for the foundation day programme of the students’ wing of the party that will be held this year on August 26.

Though the foundation day of the students’ wing of the party is on August 28, this time it will be held two days ahead. The party supremo Mamata Banerjee will be addressing the rally on Mayo Road. TMCP supporters and party workers will be pouring into the city from different parts of the state to listen to Banerjee.

There was meeting on Sunday on the preparation of the programme headed by Chatterjee. Jaya Dutta, the state president of TMCP, and other senior leaders of the party’s students’ wing were present in the meeting.

It is learnt that in the meeting Chatterjee clearly said that any member or leader getting involved in any illegal activities will not be tolerated. Immediate and strict action will be taken if anyone is found getting involved in any such activities. He had asked Dutta to inform him if she comes to know anyone getting indulged in any activities that cause harassment to common people.

Steps will be taken without seeing any political colour. In the same breath he directed not to collect any subscription for the rally on August 26.

No subscription was collected to organise the Martyrs;’ Day rally on July 21. He also advised TMCP leaders and workers to make opportunities for students those are talented in various art forms.
