No rush to do back-to-back films: Nimrat Kaur

Her last film was 2013 hit The Lunchbox but Nimrat Kaur is not worried about her absence from the big screen as the actor says she prefers quality over quantity.

While she was busy working in the fourth season of hit American espionage thriller Homeland last year, the 33-year-old actor did not have any release this year.

“For me it is quality over quantity. It is not possible for me do all types of roles. Plus, I am starting now, I cannot be dictating terms like that. I am happy the way it (career) is going,” said Nimrat. The actor is looking forward to her next film Airlift in which she will star alongside Akshay Kumar. It will release in January next year. Nimrat may have had a dry spell at the home front, but internationally she made her mark with the role of Tasneem Qureshi in Homeland.

Her stint on American television was followed by actor Priyanka Chopra’s lead role in another series, Quantico.

But Nimrat said that the trend of Indian actors appearing in TV projects in the US is nothing new.
The actor is open to doing more projects outside of India, saying, “I think I will go where ever the wind takes me. It is a great environment to work, amazing technicians and actors. There is so much to learn.”
