No proposal to merge BSNL, MTNL at this stage: Prasad

The government on Wednesday said there is no proposal currently to merge the state-owned BSNL and MTNL, but the operators are trying to generate maximum revenues for their revival. “At present, the government has no proposal to merge BSNL and MTNL. However, BSNL and MTNL are trying their best to generate the maximum revenues for their revival and revitalisation,” Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said in a written reply to the Lok Sabha.
