No political interference in probe, says Kerala CM

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said no political interference would be allowed in investigation of cases.

Addressing a new battalion of police personnel, who completed their training at Mangattuparambu here, he said the police force could work freely without subjected to any pressure in the state.

“There will not be any political interference in the investigation of cases. However, no individual or group in the force would be allowed to make any move out of the way,” he said after receiving the salute of the KAP Battalion, which completed the training.

On modernisation of state policing system, he said the training of the force would be revamped and steps taken to increase presence of women police personnel by 10 per cent.Meanwhile, state DGP Loknath Behera told reporters on the sidelines of the parade that police would investigate the cases of recent political murders in the district and there was no pressure on the force in this regard.

“There is no pressure for police. We will investigate the cases,” he said when asked about the progress of 
investigation of the murder of two CPI(M) and BJP workers in the district earlier this month.
