No order on freezing new appointments in govt institutions: HM

No order has been issued to freeze new appointments in government organisations and ministries, government said in Parliament on Wednesday while insisting that it rather intends to create maximum jobs.

"No such order has been issued...The intention of the government, on the contrary, is to create as many jobs as possible," Home Minister Rajnath Singh said in Rajya Sabha.

He intervened when a question was asked on whether the new dispensation has ordered freezing of new appointments in the government organisations and ministeries for two years.

Only an "insensitive" government can issue such an order, he said, adding "We are bringing policies to create more jobs to ensure that the number of unemployed youths come down."
