No extra charge from resettlement colonies: Arya

Leader of House in South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) and senior BJP leader Subhash Arya has demanded that extra charge should not be taken from residents of resettlement colonies and they must be regularised as per their present status.

‘We oppose any additional charge on the residents of resettlement colonies and protest it tooth and nail. The government must provide them ownership rights on ‘as is, where is basis’,’ said Subhash Arya. He added that the residents were living there since 1950 and the then government had allotted them plots of the sizes 25 to 80 sq yard.

As per the government records, there are such 45 resettlement colonies in the city which are situated at Raghuveer Nagar, Sriniwaspuri, Wazirpur, Satya Niketan, Sunlight Colony, Dakshinpuri, Pandav Nagar, Shakarpur, Jahangirpuri, Narayana, Trilokpuri, Sultanpuri, Brahmpuri, Seemapuri, Welcome, Janakpuri, Pankha Road and Madangir areas.
