No discussion on JU, JNU row in Assembly: Min

There was uproar among the Congress and Left Front MLAs after Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Partha Chatterjee refused to accept their demand that discussion on the students’ agitation at JNU and JU should be held in the Assembly. The Speaker Biman Banerjee on Monday held an all party meeting before the Assembly session. Chatterjee rejected the proposal by Congress and criticised it saying that the Opposition would someday demand a discussion on the electoral alliance on the floor of the house.Meanwhile, the Karmasamity members after a meeting with the VC of Jadavpur University, Suranjan Das have categorically said no FIR would be lodged against the students who took part in the rally to express their solidarity with the students of JNU.
