No decision on Informatic Practice yet, CBSE cries foul

Expressing concern over the matter, the CBSE chariman Vineet Joshi had written a letter to Dinesh Singh to review the decision stating that ‘large number of students will be at disadvantageous position by this move. The university officials earlier said that a decision would soon be taken on the matter.
However, the matter has not moved forward.

While the university officials say that a decision will be taken at soon-to-be-held academic council meeting, the admissions for St Stephens college will begin from Tuesday.
‘We will surely discus CBSE’s plea at the academic council meeting. We are also concerned about the fate of thousands of students’, said a senior university official.

When asked that St Stephens will begin admissions from tomorrow and delay in decision will
affect the admission process, he added, ‘What difference does it make to them? They don’t follow university guidelines anyway. Their admission process will not be affected at all.’

Meanwhile, the officials at Stephens said that they will continue with the regular procedure if the university delays the decision further.

‘What can we do if the university can’t make its decision on time. We have to start admissions by tomorrow and we will follow routine guidelines’, said a member of admission committee at Stephens, not clarifying its stand on the issue.

A total of 53,446 number of aspirants have applied for computer science in DU this year and there is possibility that most of the students have studied IP in class 12.
