No DA probe against Mulayam, Akhilesh: SP

The Samajwadi Party on Monday said party president Mulayam Singh Yadav and UP chief minister Akhilesh Yadav were not facing CBI cases under charges of possessing disproportionate assets (DA).
‘Mulayam and Akhilesh are not facing any disproportionate asset case. Only a preliminary inquiry was done against them,’ SP spokesman Ram Gopal Yadav told reporters on the sidelines of a function in Lucknow.
He added what has appeared in the press was ‘wrong.’ ‘The CBI has not registered any case against them and only a preliminary investigation was ordered by the court,’ Yadav said.

Hitting out at the Congress-led UPA government, he said its wrong policies were the main reason for the deteriorating economic condition of the country.  ‘The economic situation in the country is bad and the government is yet to take any step to counter it,’ said SP general secretary said.

‘The policies of Congress are never in the interest of the country. SP has given support to UPA government in a special situation to keep communal forces at bay,’ he said. ‘The weak rupee is because of large-scale import even though export is decreasing. This is a danger signal,’ he added.
On being asked about BJP’s survey on a website seeking mass opinion on Ram temple issue and its impact on Lok Sabha polls, Yadav said the survey would ‘serve no purpose.’ ‘There is no meaning of such survey. It will not help them...as BJP is a confused party,’ he said.
