No candidates against Sonia, Rahul: Akhilesh

‘People should not be surprised if our party does not field candidates against Congress leader Sonia Gandhi in Rae Bareli and Rahul Gandhi in Amethi. We always honour political courtesy. Party president Mulayam Singh Yadav will decide whether to field any candidate against the Congress leaders or not,’ Akhilesh Yadav said. He said that during the last Kannauj polls Congress did not field any candidate against SP, so now they would do the same. Akhilesh’s wife Dimple Yadav was elected unopposed from Kannauj in a bypoll.
SP has so far announced 78 candidates out of 80 LS constituencies. The two left out are Amethi and Rae Bareli. Yadav said SP would go full throttle after Holi. ‘When other parties are fighting to select their candidates, SP has already fielded candidates and the campaign has been launched,’ he said.
