No budget just yet, AAP govt mulls vote-on-account

The Delhi Government is not coming out with a full-fledged Budget. According to well-placed sources, the government is mulling over a vote-on-account for three months during a truncated Budget session in the month of March. A full-fledged financial document would be brought in later. “Since the Budget not only outlines a government’s financial policies, it all also spells out its social priorities, the new government needs time to articulate it views and make the document compatible with its manifesto,’ said a senior official. Meanwhile,  the first session of newly elected Vidhan Sabha would be held on February 23 and 24. The newly elected members would be administered oath on February 23 and the election of Speaker and Deputy Speaker to be held on Feb 24. A senior Delhi government official told Millennium Post that the Delhi assembly will be convened next in March, in which Vote on Account 2015-16 will be tabled.
