NIOS receives Web Ratna Awards 2014

Amid the presence of IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) has been awarded Web Ratna Awards 2014 Silver Icon under the category of Citizen Centric Services, an official said on Wednesday. The award is given to acknowledge initiatives in the realm of e-Governance.
The award is instituted by Department of Electronics and IT, Ministry of Communications & IT and National Informatic Centre (NIC). “The award is given to acknowledge exemplary initiatives in the realm of e-Governance for dissemination of information & services and Honouring Excellence in e-Governance initiative through Web,” an officials said. Prasad felicitated the winners. Ram Sevak Sharma, Secretary Department of Electronics & IT was present during the ceremony.
