Nigerian uses India Post for smuggling, nabbed

A Nigerian national was on Wednesday arrested here for allegedly attempting to smuggle drugs, concealed in three cartons, to South Africa and Guinea through the government postal system, police said.
Based on a complaint from officials of Ambattur Post Office that a man was attempting to send the contraband to foreign countries, Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officials seized 2 kg of pseudoephedrine and 100 gram of heroin from the cartons, an official release said.
Identified as Henry Chidi, the Nigerian was attempting to book the parcel for South Africa and Guinea through India Post, the government-run postal system, it said.
Investigations revealed that the man had sent such contraband in a similar way earlier to South Africa.
