NIA submits supplementary charge-sheet in 2014 Khagragarh bomb blast case

The incident took place on October 2, 2014 when a bomb went off killing two people. The State government had ordered CID inquiry. The NIA later took over the investigation. In the first charge-sheet 28 accused were named while in the supplementary charge sheet the names of two accused were mentioned.

The police arrested some members of Jamat Ul Mujahideen (Bangladesh). The court will consider framing of charges against them on June 4.

Shortly after the incident BJP president Amit Shah had said that in West Bengal only bomb making industry was flourishing. The explosion took place in a building situated close to a Madrassa. BJP had then alleged that anti national activities were being carried out from some madrassas.

Union Home minister Rajnath Singh had said that investigation would be carried out and the criminals would be brought to book.  The NIA team had visited various parts of the state and arrested those involved in the matter. The house was let out to a person who was arrested by police.

He used to bring the accused to the house. Even the neighbours did not know that bombs were being made in the house. The explosion blew the roof off the building.
