NIA officers continue to interrogate ISIS sympathiser

Considering that the detained polytechnic student is yet to get completely involved in the activities of the ISIS, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) officers are interrogating him to know the reason behind his “inclination” towards such organisations. 

It may be mentioned that a student of a polytechnic college at Kanksa in Burdwan was detained on Tuesday suspecting him to be a sympathiser of ISIS.  According to the sources in NIA, the investigating officers have found many things and his answers to many questions have made the point clear that he has an inclination towards the organisation. Moreover, he got involved with an outfit in the state which is again connected to the India module of the ISIS. 

Investigation revealed that he had communicated with some people those are suspected to be members of the India module of ISIS. The communication was mainly through various social media. 

The polytechnic student had just started reading their literature and the officers have come to know the literature that he had read in the past few months.  It is learnt that he told the NIA officers that he had wishd to join the organisation after reading the literature. He also stated some more reason that had instigated him to join the organisation. But the investigating agency officers didn’t reveal the reason for the sake of investigation. He has been interrogated in the presence of a psychologist. 
“It is important for us to know all the factors that instigated a youth to take interest in activities of the organisation,” said an NIA officer. Stating that it is difficult to answer, the officer refused to give any clear picture whether he will be released or arrested after interrogation.
