NHPC presents scholarships to students

A function was organised by NHPC Limited Kishanganga Hydro Electric Project, [330 mw] at Government Boys Middle School, village Chack, Bandipora to award scholarships to the selected meritorious students of Government Boys Middle School, Chack and Kralpora.

Scholarship to exemplary students was distributed by GM Brakboo, additional district development commissioner, Bandipora, Khalid Umar, chief engineer, Kishanganga Project and Mohammad Rafiq Parray, deputy chief education officer, Bandipora. 40 students were awarded scholarships amounting Rs 1,73,000 in order to help them in their studies and motivate other students for performing better in future.

GM Brakboo, ADDC, Bandipora emphasised that education is the only means to move ahead in this competitive world. He asked all the students to concentrate hard on their studies and also requested parents to send their children to school.

On this occasion, Khalid Umar, chief engineer, Kishanganga Hydro Electric Project addressed students and their parents  and said that NHPC Limited will continue its drive of distributing scholarship to the students villages coming under Project Affected Areas to improve the level of education in these remote villages.

He added that as per community development scheme various plans of developing infrastructure will be carried on in near future in the nearby areas of project.  

In his address Mohammad Rafiq Parray, deputy chief education officer, praised the efforts of NHPC Limited for selecting schools of remote areas for dispensing scholarship and encouraging students and showing them light to move ahead in their life.
