NHPC hosts 36th AGM

NHPC Limited, India’s premier hydropower company hosted its 36th Annual General Meeting (AGM) at Faridabad on Monday. A B L Srivastava, director (Finance), NHPC who was elected chairman for this meeting, addressed the shareholders at the AGM. Members of NHPC board including independent directors and senior officers from the Ministry of Power were also present on the occasion.

While addressing the gathering, Srivastava expressed his gratitude to all the shareholders for their contribution to the success of the company.  Srivastava also highlighted the achievements made by NHPC during the financial year 2011-12 wherein NHPC had made a commendable performance in spite of facing various challenges. While presenting the company’s annual report for the year, Srivastava informed that NHPC has registered its highest ever net profit after tax, of Rs 2771.77 crore.

The sales of the company were Rs 5509.65 crore and the cumulative sales realisation achieved was Rs 4,415 crore.

He added that the NHPC Board has recommended a final dividend of Rs 0.70 per share for the period, and said that with the commissioning of the 231 MW Chamera – III project the total installed capacity of NHPC has increased to 5526 MW.
