NFL CMD Manoj Mishra galvanises Nangal unit staff

National Fertilizers Limited (NFL) CMD Manoj Mishra, during his three -day visit to the Nangal plant from March 25 to 27, motivated the employees of the Nangal unit by sharing his expansion plans and vision of the company. He exhorted employees to participate wholeheartedly to achieve a turnover of Rs 15,000 crore with a profitability of Rs 500 crore in five years. He further emphasised that since the Nangal Unit is the oldest and an important part of the company, the Unit must envisage to contribute Rs 125 crore to the profit of the company by 2020-21. 

To make optimum use of land, water, network and manpower resources at Nangal, Mishra also spoke about the possibility of erecting a new Urea plant of around 12.71 lakh capacity at Nangal. To take the plan further, he expressed hope that the Punjab Government would also be interested to participate in the project as it will benefit the people of the Punjab state in terms of availability of Urea and employment generation. 

On this occasion, he shared with employees that seeing the market demand, company shall soon restart producing its main industrial product Ammonium Nitrate to the maximum capacity. Further, NFL signed an MoU with Indian Oil for its sale and safe transportation. “Since Industrial products are a profitable business, we will invest funds to revamp the second stream of Nitric Acid”, added Mishra. He also disclosed that a special committee has been formed to explore more opportunities for the profitability of Nangal Unit. 

Mishra also informed that the company is foraying into some new ventures such as marketing of DAP and MOP, seed multiplication programme etc. He shared that Seed Multiplication Programme has also been started on an area of three acre at Nangal to make right use of land. Giving more details of upcoming projects of the company, he said that NFL is also participating in joint venture at Ramagundam and Sindri Urea plants with the objective of consolidation of urea business.  
During the visit Mishra addressed heads of the departments in the unit, where he reviewed the performance.
