New toll policy on the anvil, says Nitin Gadkari

The Union government is mulling a new ‘people-friendly’ toll policy, which is expected to be ready in a month, Road Transport, Shipping and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari, on Thursday said. “We are planning to start a new toll policy to give relief to the people,” the minister told reporters here. Within a month, it will be declared, he said. Later speaking at an interactive session of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), he said the government was trying for 100 per cent FDI in the road sector. “We are trying our best to get low interest foreign investments. Presently, Indian banks are charging 13 per cent interest,” he said.
