New syndicate specialises in filing complaints against me: Mamata

She was addressing a rally in support of the party’s candidates in Nadia district on Friday afternoon.

“A new syndicate has come up in the state whose only business is to lodge complaint against me in Delhi. They have no work and since morning they make plans on how to spread canards against me,” she said.

Attacking the Election Commission of India she said the Superintendent of Police of Birbhum had been transferred without verifying the complaints lodged against him. Similarly, five SPs have been transferred. The inspector in charge of Mayureshwar police station has been transferred twice in one month,” she said alleging this had been done to destroy the confidence and morale of police. “But our police force is united and they will work to ensure a peaceful election,” he maintained.

Mamata Banerjee said the Opposition might think that by changing the police officers and bureaucrats they will be able to win the election. But their dreams will be shattered when election results will be out. “The people of the state will give them a befitting reply and will take revenge in the ballot by defeating them,” she said.

She said Congress was in power in Delhi for more than six decades and currently BJP was in power but none of them had ever probed into the wealth of CPI(M). “In every area the party has its well furnished office and has party whole timers. From where they are getting the money? For the past 34 years they had robbed people but no inquiry had ever been initiated against them. On the contrary CPI(M) and Congress leaders are calling me a thief,” she said.

She also added that the leaders from the BJP were coming to the state and were spreading canards against the Trinamool Congress. “They are taking advantage of our sobriety and are spreading canards against us. But the people of Bengal will not tolerate any insult to the state,” she said.

Banerjee asserted that Trinamool’s attempt to ensure development in West Bengal had not been liked by the Opposition as they know that it would be easier for them to rule over the state if the people were poor and weak. She urged the people to vote for TMC candidates as they would find them throughout the year. “Unlike CPIM and Congress we are not like seasonal birds and will be always by your side,” she said.

Despite excessive heat the turnout of local people in the meeting was very impressive. Mamata Banerjee introduced all the candidates to the people and sought their blessings.
