Netaji the forgotten hero?

Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s 118th birthday was a non-event for the government. Prime Minister Narendra Modi just expressed few words of gratitude from his twitter account. Government advertisements (read DAVP ads) were conspicuous by their absence in national newspapers. This has led to an outcry among Bose’s admirers in Bengal and the rest of the country. During the run up for May 2014 general elections the various social media pages run by supporters of then Gujarat chief minister had been proclaiming that the he was the best to protect the legacy of the great freedom fighter whose contributions have been ignored by the Nehru-Gandhi led Congress party.
