The Delhi high court on Friday turned down a plea of an AAP MLA, seeking urgent hearing of his appeal against a single judge order refusing to restrain BJP leader Karan Singh Tanwar from taking oath as Vice-Chairman (VC) of the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC).
The BJP leader was appointed as NDMC VC on July 8 by a government notification and is likely to take oath on July 20.
A Bench of Justices BD Ahmed and Sanjeev Sachdeva said since the single judge has already refused to give any interim order to petitioner and AAP MLA Surender Singh, there was no urgency in the matter which could come up for hearing in due course.
