NDITA to adopt unit area system to assess property tax

 The Nabadiganta Industrial Township Authority (NDITA) will adopt the unit area system to assess property tax to streamline property tax assessment system.

In unit area assessment system, the distance of a house from bus station, hospital, market etc are taken into consideration to assess the property tax of a building. The owners will be able to calculate the property tax on their own and can pay the money to NDITA.

The system is transparent and the owners will be able to calculate the property tax on their own. Several projects at the township will be inaugurated by the state Urban Development Minister Firhad Hakim on Monday. He will also lay the foundation stone of several projects.

It may be mentioned that Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) is going to introduce the unit area 
system of assessment of property tax from 2016-17 financial year.The foundation stone of a wetland interpretation centre that is going to come up at Nabadiganta will be laid.

 The main road of the industrial township will have Wi-Fi facility. It may be mentioned that such facility is only available on Park Street. It benefits the students and those who do business as they can download their required items free of cost. The banks of the water bodies along the ring road will be beautified.

Some roads of the township will be strengthened by using mastic Asphalt. The township will have a drainage pumping station to combat water-logging menace.

Several streets of the township are flooded and the office goers have to wend through knee deep to waist deep water. The NDITA is coming up as a major IT hub in the state. With improved infrastructure, it will be easier to woo investors to put their money in IT industry.
