NBW against AAP’s Guj chief, ahead of Kejriwal rally

Kejriwal has questioned the timing and alleged conspiracy to spoil his rally in Surat on Sunday.

“Will Gulab be arrested before the rally? Just two days before Surat rally, Delhi police obtains NBW against our Gujarat Prabhari, Gulab Singh in a completely false case,” said Kejriwal in a tweet. Delhi Chief Minister is on a four- day tour to Gujarat starting from Friday. His public rally in Surat on October 16 also includes meeting farmers, and businessmen. He will also visit Mehsana, from where Patidar agitation for reservation gathered steam in 2015. AAP will contest Gujarat Assembly polls and hopes to make inroads in the state in the wake of Patidar agitation and Dalit movement.

AAP leaders alleged that BJP is organising ‘fake protests’ against Kejriwal on the name of different organisations. Several volunteers and supporters of AAP assembled at Ahmedabad airport to receive Kejriwal in Gujarat. AAP Gujarat convenor Gulab Singh Yadav, who is also the MLA from Matiala in Delhi, alleged that Gujarat government arrests Patidars before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally but sets goons free before Kejriwal’s rally. Singh has reportedly told the police that he can join the investigation only on October 18. Earlier, Gujarat government has also announced to stop all internet service for 3-4 hours in Surat to prevent cheating in board exams.

Confirming the NBW, Joint Police Commissioner of Delhi Police Dependra Pathak said, “We moved the court seeking NBW and the court has granted our request. We are asking him to immediately join the investigation,”. The case is related to a complaint lodged by two Delhi-based builders Deepak Sharma and Rinku Diwan who alleged that two of Gulab Singh’s associates were engaged in money extortion.
