NBCC builds up its quarterly profit by 13.56%

State-owned construction firm NBCC on Wednesday reported 13.56 per cent increase in consolidated net profit to Rs 57.28 crore for the quarter ended December. Its net profit stood at Rs 50.44 crore in the year-ago period.

Income from operations rose by 29 per cent to Rs 1,426.44 crore during October-December period of this fiscal from Rs 1,108.55 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year, the National Buildings Construction Corporation (NBCC) said in a regulatory filing.

The company, which is under the administrative control of the Urban Development Ministry, is present in three main segments -- Project Management Consultancy (PMC), real estate and engineering, procurement and construction (EPC contracting).

NBCC had bagged business worth Rs 2,525 crore in the last month, while Rs 8,523 crore worth contracts in December. Last month, the company bagged a Rs 2,149 crore order from the Indian Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) for redevelopment of exhibition venue Pragati Maidan in New Delhi.

The ‘navratna’ firm had a turnover of around Rs 5,000 crore in the 2014-15 fiscal.
