Nat’l Commission for Child Protection member meets N-24 Pgns officials

A National Commission for Child Protection member on Wednesday met senior district officials of North 24 Parganas to take stock of the situation in the wake of the sensational child trafficking incident which was first reported from Baduria area of the district.

The official asked the DM, ADM, SP and CMOH at the meeting here to regularly visit registered NGOs and homes, monitor those not having been registered already. She also called for giving more tooth to the chief protection committee and involve schools and colleges in the district in the awareness campaign.

The CID has so far arrested 18 people from different parts of south Bengal for their alleged involvement in the trafficking racket that was busted on November 21.
