Woman dies, another missing; Odisha flood toll mounts to 4

A woman died and another went missing after they were swept away by flood water in Bhadrak district while a number of villages were inundated in Balasore and Sundergarh districts.
The search team on Thursday recovered the body of Amita Nayak of Uasahi village while the other woman was missing, Special Relief Commissioner B P Sethi said. The SRC said that the woman was the first victim of flood in north Odisha while three persons had died in south Odisha last week. Sethi said the flood situation in Jajpur and Bhadrak districts has improved as water of Baitarani river receded.
All the people evacuated in the two districts returned home and assessment of damage to private and public properties due to floods would be taken up soon, he said. The water level in Subarnarekha river has started receding. agencies
