Bulandshahr: A shocking incident jolted Bulandshahr, where 2 cousin sisters were burnt to death while the entire family was in Delhi to shop for their brother's forthcoming wedding.
Two cousin sisters aged 23 and 20 were killed and then set ablaze in two separate rooms inside their house in BB Nagar area of Bulandshahar on Thursday evening.
According to police, the deceased have been identified as Sheelu (23) and Shivani (20). Shivani had come from Hapur district to attend her cousin Rahul's marriage function.
On February 1, the family members had gone out to Delhi for wedding shopping. When they came back home in the night, there was a foul stench emanating from the house. When they opened one of the rooms, they found Sheelu's body lying charred to death on the bed. In another room, Shivani was also found burnt to death.
Sheelu's neck had car clutch wire, which hints at murder.
The cops have initiated the probe to find out who is behind the murder.
"As the information was conveyed to us, teams from police and forensic department were pressed into action. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem. A case has been registered based on the complaint given by the family members of the deceased and investigations are underway" said Muniraj G, senior superintendent of police, Bulandshahar.
"Prima facie, it appears to be a case of one-sided love and no valuables are missing from the home. However, the actual reason behind the death can only be ascertained after the autopsy reports " the SSP added.
Sheelu's brother Rahul Singh's wedding was scheduled to take place on February 18.
