Siliguri: 2nd most polluted city

Siliguri: Siliguri has been declared as the second polluted city in India on Monday.

The Left Front Youth Organisation organised a protest rally with activists wearing black masks in front of the Airview More. Hundreds of youth staged a demonstration with placards in there hands. A signature campaign was also organised on the roads itself. The youth demanded that every vehicle on the road should be checked whether it is pollution free and should maintain the limits so that no one faces incovenience. Udayan Das Gupta, District Secretary of Left Front Youth organisation added: "Today (Monday), we organised a rally from Airview More to protest and make the people of Siliguri aware of the fact that our town is over polluted. We have also organised a signature campaign on road. This will be submitted to the administration after Holi." The main reason behind the protest was that the people of Siliguri are suffering because of the pollution. They have to wear masks when travelling to other places and to avoid such things, the administration has to check every vehicle whether it is pollution free.
