Shah asks Odisha people to throw Naveen Patnaik govt and bring BJP for dev

Bhawanipatna (Odisha): BJP national president Amit Shah on Wednesday appealed to the people to throw away the corrupt and inefficient BJD government led by Naveen Patnaik and bring BJP to power in Odisha for development.
Mr Shah, who arrived here on a two-day visit to the state, expressed his pleasure over the large congregation of people at the public meeting braving 45 degree Celsius temperature and said it indicated that the people of Odisha wanted a change.
The BJP president said the party is in power in 20 states of the country including Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Chhatisgarh, Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura and would also win the election in Karnataka.
He said though the Naveen Patnaik government was in power for a long time in Odisha still 36 per cent of the people of the state have no electricity, 50 per cent of people have no pucca houses, more than 12,000 villages have no roads and there was shortage of teachers in 67 per cent of schools.
Not a single university of the state figured in the list of top 100 universities in the country,Mr Shah said slamming the state government for its failure to provide safe drinking water to the people.
He said the health care system in the state has collapsed and there was acute shortage of doctors. As high as 5.40 lakh children are suffering from acute malnutrition and only 33 per cent of farm land was covered under the Sinchai yojana in Odisha .The people in large numbers are migrating to other states in search of work.
Odisha, he said, needs such a leadership who can speak and write Odia language and could understand the sentiments of the people of the state .
The state ,Mr Shah said, had a high potential for development of tourism but the Naveen Patnaik government was doing nothing for the promotion of tourism in the state.
