PM Modi holds second roadshow in Varanasi

Amid the shower of rose petals and various slogans, almost every street of the temple town Varanasi converted into a sea of saffron flags as Prime Minister Narendra Modi held his second road show in the city in two days in his parliamentary constituency today evening. With just three more days to go for the final phase of the polls to come to an end, the PM is planning to campaign in Varanasi for consecutive three days here.

He would address an election rally later this evening and is expected to stay in the city overnight and tomorrow. He is further expected to lead another rally and a meeting on March 6 before campaigning finally terminates. Supporters chanting 'Modi Modi' and Vande Mataram' could be heard throughout the 5 km stretch from Police Lines to Kashi Vidyapeeth.

Putting an objection on the actions of the party, Congress criticised the roadshow held yesterday and even lodged a complaint with the Election Commission (EC) alleging that the event was held without necessary consent. However, the BJP said the show was not a planned one and impromptu rather.
