No activities that can cause tension with China: Arunachal CM

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Wednesday said there was no activity on the Indian border with China in his state that could create tension between the two countries.
"There are no such activities that can create tension along the India-China border in Arunachal," Khandu told the media here after addressing a tribal rally by the Bharatiya Janata Party.
"Both India and China are rational and sensible. No country wants war as it will cause huge loss to both countries."
Asserting that Arunachal Pradesh was an integral part of India, the Chief Minister said the central government had undertaken ambitious projects, including those pertaining to infrastructure development, to develop the northeastern state.
India and China share over 1,300 km border in Arunachal Pradesh (1,080 km) and Sikkim (220.35 km).
Khandu criticised Tripura's Left Front government led by the Communist Party of India-Marxist for what he said was its failure to develop the state at the desired level and accused it of keeping the tribals backward.
Addressing the rally, BJP Tripura President Biplab Kumar Deb said the CPI-M had unleashed terror in the state, fearing defeat in next year's assembly elections.
