On the occasion of 47th Statehood Day, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh extended his felicitations to the people of the state.
"In a short span of time, the state has become a model of development not for the smaller states but for the bigger states of the country in the field of education, health, horticulture, social welfare and inclusive growth," Singh said.
" Today, Himachal is known as most prosperous and fastest growing economy in the country. The World Bank, Economic Survey Reports and various national and international agencies put their seal on this fact," he said in a statement.
The present State Government has completed four years of its present term about a month ago.
"Welfare of common man has been the central theme of the policies of the state government. Social security pension has been enhanced from Rs 450 to Rs 600 per month. About 387,000 aged, widows and persons with special abilities are being benefited under the scheme. The persons above 80 years of age are being provided social security pension at the rate of Rs 1,200 per month irrespective of their income," he added.
